Aloha Hawaii

On Monday, January 4th, Ethan and I left Hawaii for Kansas, and Chris followed shortly after for a military training program in New Jersey. We were sad to be leaving all of our good friends in Hawaii, but were happy to be going to visit my family. Boy...we are all so much colder than we were in Hawaii....winter is not the best time to move!
Ethan loved the "keiki" size lei he recieved from friends at church!

We started our journey by staying on Hickam Air Force base, so it seemed appropriate to spend our last few nights there too. Only this time, we were leaving with our "souvenir" from Hawaii...

Ethan's 1st Haircut!

Ethan had his first haircut this week! One of my good friends came over (Trisha) and cut his hair. Daddy was there on hand to help, but with Veggie Tales and his favorite toy (car keys) I don't think he even knew what was happening!

He looks so much older to me now!

Lions & Tigers & Bears, Oh My! Well, maybe we only saw a lion!

On Thursday we took Ethan to the Waikiki Zoo with our playgroup families. It was Ethan's first time to the zoo, and while he wasn't all that interested in the animals, I think he still had fun being outside and spending time with Daddy.

The zebras and giraffes were Ethan's favorite! I think the zebras were the only animals he actually smiled at!
Ethan, Daddy, and our friends Troy, Camiron, Braden, and Molly all check out the monkeys!

It started to rain, so we didn't get to go to the petting zoo. Instead, Ethan went home and rode his own miniature pony! Yea!

It's Your 1st Christmas, Ethan!

We had a lot of fun this Christmas morning. Like most new parents, we probably over bought for Ethan, but I don't think he minded too much. Actually, I think he may have been a little overwhelmed by it all. He seemed to enjoy opening the first couple of presents, but after that he kept crawling away from them and heading toward his old toys. Some of the new toys made a lot of noise, which he wasn't sure about.

Inca had the most fun with her present. She had pretty much destroyed her new rope-bone by the time we sat down for Christmas dinner. Oh well, what can you get a 130 pound English Mastiff that she won't destroy?

All of the toys passed a very rigorous taste inspection.

Christmas Party!

On Friday we had our Christmas party. Everyone was encouraged to dress up as if we lived in Bethlehem during the first Christmas. Some people had great looking costumes! My lack of creativity and last minute planning ended us all in bathrobes, but we still had fun!

Success at Last!

Okay, so after several failed attempts and a losing a few handfuls of hair, I think I've got this thing working! So hopefully soon I'll get pictures up and get this thing looking a little better! (Soon being sometime before summer!)

New understanding of technical difficulties

So many people make this look super easy, while I can't even get a template to load! (Despite many efforts...)
